Serving gastro-pub classics (for want of a better description), the Tavern Bistro is the perfect place to refuel after a morning exploring the Welsh hills.
The kitchens at Lake Vyrnwy are a hive of activity from six in the morning till late at night. We bake our own bread each morning, take up to four days to make a proper stock – we even make our own marmalade that is so good one guest has flown in by helicopter just to pick up a supply for home.
With all that effort going on in the background our simple menu hides some stunning flavours - for example our Vyrnwy beef burger is half a pound of the finest beef from local Welsh Black cattle, served in a bun with Vyrnwy relish, perfectly dressed salad and hand cut chips.
The same passion and attention to detail goes into every item on the menu and that explains why the Tavern Bistro is just as popular for an evening meal as it is for lunch.
