Watersports at Lake Vyrnwy
A lake adventure for all ages.
It's probably no surprise that watersports play a big part in the “full Lake Vyrnwy experience” and even if you hadn't thought about a little sailing before you arrived, watching a dinghy glide serenely over the waters of the lake and into a secluded cove has prompted more than one hotel guest to dip a toe in the water (or not, as the case may be).
Bethania Adventure Watersports, which is based at the boathouse you can see from Lake Vyrnwy Hotel, has a fleet of sailing dinghies ranging from a topper for single handed sailing to family sailing in a wayfarer. Sailing boats can be self-sailed (for the competent sailor) or as a helmed boat for those that just want a sailing experience or would like to brush up their skills.
It's one thing seeing Lake Vyrnwy from the lakeside – but you get a totally different perspective from the lake. Bethania Adventure Watersports hire 1, 2 or 3 men Canadian canoes as well as single seat kayaks. On a calm summers day we can’t think of a better, more serene way to enjoy the full beauty of the lake.
Order a luxury picnic from Lake Vyrnwy hotel and you can paddle gently to a secluded cove, pop a chilled bottle of champagne and enjoy your very own corner of one of North Wales’ most beautiful valleys.
There's even white water rafting, occasionally on the River Vyrnwy or at the National Water Centre at nearby Bala.
